Front panels

Front panels

Blank plates are manufactured according to the customer's choice of aluminium or steel. A colour printed polyester or polycarbonate film is then applied flush with the entire blank.

We offer front panels or partial front panels in various heights and divisional units. We are also ready to manufacture custom formats for you in aluminium or synthetic materials in thicknesses up to 12 mm. Mechanical processing is performed on cutting-edge CNC stamping machines and automated nibbling machines. Surfaces may be anodised, painted or powder coated. A solvent- and scratch-resistant label ensures that the underlying anodic printing is protected. Threaded pins and sockets welded or pressed into the rear side facilitate installation of components and circuit boards without detracting from the appearance of the front.

Composite front panels are available to fulfil the highest requirements. In these cases polycarbonate or polyester front membranes are evenly adhered to a machined base plate. The membranes are colour printed with embossing on the key area. If desired, slide-in strips with exchangeable lettering make these panels more universal.

FRONT PANELS ACCORDING TO EMC DIRECTIVES

In order to ensure that products retain their electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) even after the front panels have been installed, the rear sides of the blank plates are chrome-plated. Special care is taken to ensure that the chrome coating is applied in the edge and boundary areas. Press-in pins and grounding leading are pressed or welded into the blank plates. To shield against electromagnetic voltage fields, single-sided, electrically conductive transparent polyester membranes are adhered into the blank plate's visible area using a special silver paste. Additionally, copper strips are adhered into the key openings. Prior milling of recesses and insertion surfaces prevents bulging of the surface when the colour-printed polyester or polycarbonate film is later applied, thereby preserving the decorative face of the membrane front panel.
